A/N2 Apologies for any of you who are getting this multiple times, it's cross posted

Jack and Owen were first to arrive at Torchwood House on the Sunday morning.

“Morning Jack, how’re you feeling?  Not too much of a thick head I hope?  We sure put away a lot last night.”

“Mmm yeah we did didn’t we?  No I’m fine, Damien had a full breakfast ready for me when I got up and that helped.  He and Chris are always up before me, I don’t know how they do it.”

“Tosh is the same, she’s always first awake.”

They were just about to go into a conversation about Ianto and the previous night when they heard, “Morning boys – sorry Jack, Owen, how are you two today?”  Gwen came bounding across the lobby dragging Rhys behind her.

“Morning Gwen, we’re good thanks, although we’ve got a slight hangover, we were celebrating last night.”

“Oh yeah, what?”

“Gwen leave Mr Harkness and Doctor Harper alone, they don’t want twenty questions from you first thing in a morning.  I’m sorry about my fiancée gentlemen but she’s definitely a morning person.”

The men laughed, Owen and Jack wincing at the sudden pain in their heads.  “That’s ok Rhys, and please it’s Jack and Owen.  I’ve always said that if we’re not so formal on a site, the work gets done quicker as well as the high standards I expect from my staff.”

“Oh, ok, I’ll remember that, thanks Jack.”

“What were you celebrating then?"

“Gwen!”  Rhys looked at her with disdain.

“I was only asking, you don’t find out anything if you don’t ask.”

“You might want to take that advice Jack” whispered Owen, “and ask Ianto out.”  He looked at his best friend, smiled as he noticed a slight colour hit Jack’s cheeks.

Jack glared at Owen “I told you last night” he whispered back “there is nothing happening there, he’s….”

“Yeah so you keep saying he’s straight

Before Jack could say anymore, Ianto entered the Lobby.  “Morning, sorry if I’m late, taxi was late picking me up.”

“You’re not late, we were just chatting about last night” said Jack.

Ianto’s thoughts of last night flashed through his mind and he could feel his face getting warm as his mind was taken back to Jack in those tight black jeans.

“Ianto, you ok?”

“Yeah Owen, I’m fine, just rushing because of the taxi.  I didn’t want to be late.”

You can’t fool me Jones, I’ve known you too long, you’re thinking about something or someone else.  Owen kept his thoughts to himself, he would do whatever it took to get his two friends to admit their feelings about each other.  But he would not make it too obvious.

“Ok kids, shall we go up and wait for the rest.  Rod should be here in a few minutes,  He’ll want to get straight on.  And I need a coffee to set me up for the day.  I’ll have to put it on when we get up there, we’re looking after ourselves today.”

“I don’t mind doing the coffee” Ianto offered “I was always first in on my other contracts so….”

“That would be great….thanks.” Come on Jack stop staring at the man.  But Jack couldn’t get the image out of his mind from the previous night of Ianto in the tight jeans and Blue Gillespie t-shirt.  He had to turn his back on the rest of them, his reaction below the waist would give him away.  Pulling his great coat tighter around him, he took several deep breaths and pressed the button for the lift.

“Jack….hey Captain Harkness….you ok?”

“What?....sorry Owen, yeah, I’m in need of some strong coffee.”

Thankfully the lift arrived and they all piled in.  Jack making sure he stood at the back, hoping no one had seen anything.

Ianto was the last into the lift and as he was close to the floor buttons he pressed the one for the Lecture Theatre.  He stood with his back to everyone, his eyes closed, trying to push all thoughts of how sexy Jack was in that coat, out of his mind.  But it wasn’t working, he could feel his face getting warm again and he felt something else.  Something that he’d not felt for a long time.  His blood supply had gone south and he could sense reactions happening below his waist.  Stop right there Ianto, you should not be experiencing these feelings.  He’s your boss and nothing is going to happen.  You’re…. the lift doors opened and Ianto made a quick exit to the Conference Room to put the coffee on.

Owen had noticed the speedy departure and decided to follow “Jack, I’ll go give Ianto a hand with the coffee.”

“Ok, we’ll go make sure everything’s ready for Rod.”

Ianto was filling both coffee machines when Owen walked up behind him.  “Ianto!”

Ianto physically jumped, he didn’t expect anyone to have followed him and he was still thinking about the reaction he’d just had to Jack.

“Sorry Ianto, didn’t mean to startle you.  Are you ok?”

“Yeah Owen I’m….I’m fine, why?”

“You looked flushed in the lift, I was concerned.  You did have a bit to drink last night, I was wondering….well….”

“Yeah, I know and thanks, but I’m ok.”

“Alright, but if there’s ever anything you want to talk about, just let me know, ok?”  Owen didn’t want to push it, but he’d seen the reaction on Ianto’s face in the lift.  He had an idea that he was thinking about Jack.  He’d known Ianto too long and had been right on numerous occasions when Ianto had fancied someone.  If Owen was right and Ianto did have feelings for Jack, he didn’t want to push it, feelings for a man were something new to his best friend.

“Thanks Owen, but as I said I’m fine, probably just tired.  And before you say anything else you are the first person I’ll talk to if I want help with anything.”  How could he say anything to Owen about what he was feeling for Jack.  For as long as he’d known him he’d always been with women.  How could he now explain his feelings for a man?  No, he’d have to sort this one out himself.  He would work with Jack and that would be it.  He couldn’t have a relationship with his boss.

Jack, Gwen and Rhys had gone through to the Lecture Theatre where everything was still there from the previous day.

“Rhys why don’t you go give Ianto and Owen a hand with the coffee?”

Oh, but….well ok.”  Rhys headed off to find the two men.

Gwen began putting out fresh note paper for everyone and deliberately made her way towards Jack.  Getting close to him she dropped several sheets of paper and as she bent down to pick them up she felt someone at her side.  “God, I’m clumsy this morning.”

“Hey, no worries, no harm done.”  Jack was crouched down beside her helping to retrieve the pages.  “here you go, see not a problem.”  Jack handed the sheets to Gwen, who, when she took them from him, deliberately touched his fingers with hers.
Mmm nice hands Captain, what would they feel like touching me?  She smiled at the thought, and looked into his eyes.  You have gorgeous eyes too Jack, Oh I’m going to love having you looking at me.

Jack stood up and held out a hand to pull Gwen to a standing position.  Taking the offered hand she shuddered at his touch, careful Gwen, not too soon.  Plenty of time for you to show how you think of Jack and what you’d like to do with him.  “Thanks for the help up.”

“No problem, we’d better make sure everything is ready for a prompt start.”

The three men came into the room smiling and laden with coffee and biscuits.  “I found these in the cupboard with the mugs, hope you didn’t mind Jack?”

“Not at all Ianto, I expect Dawn put them there.”  How can one man look so good first thing in a morning?  Jack couldn’t help but look at Ianto.  He’d chosen tan cargo pants and a white shirt, Jack could see the hint of soft downy hairs peeking from the top of the shirt.  Ianto had chosen to leave the first two buttons open, and Jack was thinking about what he’d look like without it, when Owen broke into his thoughts.

“Jack….hey Captain Harkness….are we sitting where we were yesterday?”

“What….oh yeah, that’ll make it easier for Rod.”

“Ok, great.”

Gwen wasn’t too happy about that last remark, she was hoping to sit next to Jack today.  Now she’d have to be content with watching him from the back.

The rest of the team began to arrive and take their places.  Rod came bounding in with an arm full of leaflets and his notes.
“Morning, bear with me this morning, I’m running a bit late.  Don’t worry, these aren’t for you I’ve got another induction to go to after I leave you.”  He put everything on the table as they all found their seats.

Gray was the last to arrive “sorry Jack, I was all set for coming out the house when mum stopped me.  She wants to know when she’s going to see you and John Hart?  Why haven’t you told her yet?”

“I just haven’t had time to call around, I’ve been busy.  Besides she never really liked him, said he was too full of himself.  What did you tell her?”

“Nothing, I just said you’d be in touch to sort out a day.  Why don’t you come home with me after this and have Sunday dinner with us.  Then you can tell her.”

“I don’t know, Chris and Damien….”

“They’ve got a phone haven’t they?  Ring them, you know what mum’s like when she gets something in her head.”

“Ok….ok, I’ll ring the boys, now come and sit down Rod wants to start.”

Ianto had been listening to the conversation.  He’d tried not to but he was sat too close.  Who’s this John Hart?  What were they to one another?  No stop it, you need to concentrate on the induction not what Jack is doing.  But there was no getting away from the fact that there was just something about Captain Jack Harkness that Ianto was curious about.
